Famous everywhere for being a foodies' paradise, Malaysia's got everything from gorgeous beaches, for example the Perhentian Islands, futuristic high-rises in Kuala Lumpur, exotic jungles - no better example than Borneo, and stacks more in between. Its neighbours Thailand, Indonesia, The Philippines and Brunei influence its cuisine, which is at its best on the west coast. Make sure you plan your visit time carefully, as Malaysia's tropical and the monsoon seasons could make things a little more interesting.
