A little over an hour drive from Sydney, The Entrance is a popular weekend spot all year round, though it packs out with punters during seasonal events like the Winter Blues and Jazz Festival.
Accommodation at The Entrance is suitably diverse for one of NSW's most popular beach spots, ranging from kitschy bed and breakfasts to more upmarket suites and resorts. Regardless of accommodation preferences, you'll certainly find somewhere to stay within your travel group's tastes and budgets.
With an attractive town centre, staying in The Entrance puts you a stones throw away from some of the region's most celebrated beaches. Whether you're exploring some of the Central Coast's other regions, or staying local, The Entrance is a great base for exploring one of NSW's most friendly clusters of beach towns.
The Entrance is a haven for watersports and all year round you'll find punters water-skiing, canoeing, sailing, rowing and sailboarding in the region's beaches and lagoons. The Entrance Ocean Baths also contain a 50 metre pool, perfect for doing laps.
Pelican feeding is popular in Memorial Park, and a daily Pelican Feed takes place on the waterfront at 3:30pm each day. There are few places where you can have such a close encounter with these friendly species who flock around the area and its waterfront spots.
The lookout at Pelican Beach also gives visitors a scenic view of the Entrance. For further vantage points, head to Crackneck Lookout or Wyrrabalong Lookout for sensational views of the Central Coast and its stunning headlands.
For nature hikes, Wyrrabalong National Park provides great opportunities for bushwalking and gazing at the region's breathtaking coastline. There are few places in New South Wales which offer such sweeping views of the rugged coastline.
