The belt that heads south from Sydney down to the Victorian border. Bordered to the west by the Southern Tablelands, a region plentiful in national parks. To the east is the coastline of the Pacific Ocean, characterised by its charming towns and villages, rocky cliffs and coastlines, miles of farmland and numerous beaches and in-land lakes.

The Shellharbour area is the most northern in the South Coast region, only a 1.5 hour drive from Sydney. A historic township on Lake Illawarra, this unspoilt natural setting is a haven for water sports. If you go more south, Kiama is a seaside town with a rich and vibrant history famous for its blowhole.

Jervis Bay and Shoalhaven boasts some of the region's most secluded spots, with beaches, bays, and many craggy rock formations adorning the coastline. With historic country villages and many traditional pubs and antique stores, the Jervis Bay and Shoalhaven region has a lot more than just its natural assets.

Batemans Bay and Eurobodalla region forms a stunning stretch of beaches, craggy coves and secluded estuaries, the perfect surrounds for fishing, diving or snorkelling. Families will love the region's range water sports and be charmed by the region's quirky cafes, craft galleries and boutique stores.

Merimbula and the Sapphire Coast include the towns of Bermagui, Tathra, Merimbula and Eden. With abundant national parks and many walking tracks and coastal drives, the region is certainly not short of things to see and do. The region is renowned whale watching, deep sea-fishing and food and wine experiences, all set amongst a number of sparkling beaches and bays.
